AAF-2025

Travel assistance Taking part in an international piano competition requires not only thorough musical preparation, but it is also a considerable investment. Travelling costs money and the participant needs to find accommodation, preferably not too far from the hall and practicing facilities. With the large quantity of competitions, pianists might prefer to apply for competitions that are relatively easy to travel to, rather than to indulge in an adventurous trip to a place far away from any airport or train station. Below and on the next page are a few examples of competitions scheduled for 2025*, that offer compensation and assistance to the pianists who have been selected for participation (or to those who have reached a certain stage in the competition). * and also those having the application deadline in 2025 Travel expenses fully covered (air ticket / train) - Calgary (Canada) Honens [semi-finalists] - Hong Kong IPC - Utrecht Liszt ’26 - Fort Worth (TX, USA) Cliburn - Takamatsu (Japan) - Warsaw Chopin - Yeoncheon MK (Korea) [if 1 st prize IPC] Travel compensation/reimbursement (up to a maximum amount) - Utrecht (Netherlands) Liszt (2000 Euro finalists ’26 ) - Fulda (Germany) Pianale (500 Euro semi-finalists, 1500 Euro finalists) - Kaoshiung (Taiwan) Maestro Taiwan (US$ 1500) - Valencia (Spain) Iturbi (1000 Euro + 300 Euro semi-finalists) - Sendai (Japan) SIMC (up to 150,000 Yen) - Malaga (Spain) - Ljubljana (Slovenia) (800 Euro) - Hilton Head (USA) (up to US$ 750) - Tokyo (Japan) Shigeru Kawai (up to 100,000 Yen) - Singapore SIPC (SGD 850) - Seregno (Italy) Pozzoli (up to 600 Euro) ’23 - Bonn (Germany) Telekom Beethoven (500 Euro) - Pontoise (France) Piano Campus (up to 500 Euro) - Calgary (Canada) Honens CAD 750 (when over CAD 250, quarter-finalists) - Brussels (Belgium) Queen Elisabeth (50% trav. expenses up to 500 Euro, semi-finalists)
