AAF Conference

In September 2022, the second international AAF Conference will be held in: Utrecht (the Netherlands), 20-21 September 2022 (New dates!) This 2nd AAF Conference will be organised at TivoliVredenburg in collaboration with the international Liszt Competition in Utrecht, the Netherlands. (www.liszt.nl) People who attend the AAF Conference may also very well consider to stay a little longer and have the opportunity to attend the Sc h ubert edition of the Liszt Competition Utrecht. Utrecht is not far from Amsterdam and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. The first AAF Conference took place in Barcelona (19-20 March 2018) and had a great resonance: 154 representatives of international piano competitions, piano companies, concert agencies from all over the world attended this event. It was a unique opportunity for them to get together and to discuss various topics which are important in the world of piano competitions. Many of them took part in the panel discussions which evoked some lively discussions, especially about the issue of allowing or prohibiting students of jury members to participate in the same competition, whether or not to publish the votes by the jury, how to announce the competition most effectively and to make use of the various existing networks. The 2nd AAF Conference will again be very attractive for all organisers of international piano competitions. Special attention will be given to the role and purpose of competitions and to the considerations and concerns of the pianists that take part in them.
