AAF Conference With great pleasure we announce that the 3 rd international AAF Conference will be held in Cleveland (Ohio, USA), 8-9 August 2024 Several international piano competition organisers had kindly offered to host this event, but it was decided to have it this time in Cleveland, in collaboration with Piano Cleveland, which will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Cleveland Int'l Piano Competition in 2024! The AAF Conference will take place 8-9 August 2024 at Severance Music Center, Reinberger Chamber Hall, during the Cleveland International Piano Competition. In the evenings of August 9 and 10, the competition finals will be held with the Cleveland Orchestra. The 1 st AAF Conference (Barcelona, 2018, in collaboration with the Maria Canals Competition) was attended by more than 150 representatives of international piano competitions, pianists and other persons involved in the Piano World. The 2 nd AAF Conference was organised in Utrecht (Netherlands) in collaboration with the Liszt Utrecht Competition (September 2022, after originally having been planned for March 2020, but postponed due to the covid pandemic) and drew more than 120 attendees, including the directors of many well-known piano competitions and several concert pianists. The 3 rd AAF Conference will again be very attractive for all organisers of international piano competitions and others professionally involved in the Piano World. The rules and procedures for the jury are among the discussion topics as well as innovative ideas and a reflection on which factors may enhance or damage the reputation and image of a competition. Another panel session will address the challenges competition organisers face with the current situation of the world. This conference is a unique opportunity for meeting colleagues, exchanging ideas and opinions, making new contacts and to do further networking in the World of Piano Competitions.
